Have you ever been so afraid that time stood still? That moment when everything in you screams loudly but not a sound comes out of your mouth? Fear can be so crippling. It can keep us frozen in time, stuck in a moment or simply unmoving.
It could be the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, an accident or merely being challenged to do something you’re unfamiliar with. Whatever the case may be, don’t be afraid! Don’t allow the things you fear to paralyze you or keep you from setting goals and walking them out.
There are tons of success stories written but the one thing they all have in common is that they didn’t allow their fears to hold them back. Failure wasn’t an option. Each failure was merely redefined as an experiment. My dad used to say, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!”
There are thousands of moments in a day, don’t waste them thinking about your fears, rather spend them thinking of succeeding. Make plans! Set those goals! Better to set a goal and miss than to have no goals at all.
Breathe deeply, smile and repeat these words, “I will not be afraid! I will put one foot in front of the other and walk myself out of where I am. My future will be greater than my past!” Keep going until your fears become a distant memory that encourages others on in their own race.
