There’s always something, isn’t there? You get through one battle, and face another. There are times when they tend to overlap each other, and the strain from it makes you want to throw in the towel! What do you do when the things you face overwhelm you?
“So I tell you, don’t worry about the things you need to live—what you will eat, drink, or wear. Life is more important than food, and the body is more important than what you put on it. Look at the birds. They don’t plant, harvest, or save food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. Don’t you know you are worth much more than they are? You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it.” Matthew 8:25-27
Whoa! Slow down there pilgrim. Lets go back up and read that passage again. It’s basically saying, “I’ve got this! Don’t worry about what you have no control over! I said I’d provide everything you need. Trust in Me!”
The last two days have been extremely trying for me. I had so much thrown at me, I felt like I was in a dodge ball game and the whole team was plummeting me with balls. What did I do? I reminded myself to stop worrying about what was days away. I heard the Lord say, “Don’t borrow from tomorrow, stay in today.”
I’m a great multitasker, but if it takes my peace, it’s not worth it! God never expected me to carry things from Friday when today is only Wednesday. If I just rest in Him, keep my mind on Him, He will show me the way through today, and bring me into tomorrow strong, rested and at peace.
When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You,“Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.” Psalm 27:8
Thank you Father for today! It’s a good day and everything I face, You go before me and prepare the way. There’s nothing we can’t do together! I will avoid the temptation to run ahead and go it alone. I need You, Lord. Every minute of this day. I need your wisdom and favor. There are no dead ends with you, only re-directions. My heart trusts in You and I will not be afraid. You are faithful to keep all of Your promises to me. It’s in Jesus’ name, Amen.
